this character belongs to an original world that i have created from scratch. i take heavy inspiration from folklore and mythology, especially from the greek pantheon. please respect the originality of this character, as a lot of time has gone into creating artemisia and her world.

my name is himeㅤand i'm an aspiring librarian. i spent a lot of my time reading fantasy books, my favorites being a court of thorns and roses, kingdom of the wicked, sorcery of thorns and a touch of darkness. my favorite reading tropes are enemies to lovers, one bed, hades & persephone, beauty & the beast, soulmates, forbidden love, the villian, unhinged, fae. i am a huge folklore and mythology lore, having grown up reading percy jackson and studied different mythology in my free time, as well as having taken some classes as an english major in college. typically, i watch my friends play video games, rather than play, but the games that i do play are final fantasy, honkai: star rail, and various otomes. i also dabble in tarot reading, and i love the moon and the night.

Rumor has it that the four great cities were favored by four gods. & that one day, they would return.
Destruction & chaos would follow when they did.

The first city was thought to be blessed by Famine. Farmers who were traveling generations ago had settled down, had give a starving, homeless beggar what little food they had, despite what little rations they had left, woke up one day to find that some of their seeds they were carrying had fallen through holes in their burlap bags, had sprouted into vegetables in the morning. The beggar was gone, but the farmers took it as a sign that the land was fertile enough that they could harvest it & restock on supplies. However, the fertile land continued to provide, & the farmers continued to supply beggars and passerbyers with food. Eventually, what was one small hut turned into a small village, & then grew into the city that it was today. Decorated with cornucopia, vines along the stone walls, the city thrived with a bustling farming market. A cathedral was built in the center of the city, a throne made for a giant made in case Famine ever returned & for residents to come bring their offerings to.The second city was thought to be blessed by Pestilence. It was home to several scholars who studied for cures & remedies from all over the world. It was a quiet city in contrast to the first city, there were no harvest festivals, only large libraries that continued to grow. More scholars came each year, medicines & tonics made and distributed. Similar to the first city, a cathedral was built in honor of Pestilence, a throne in the middle of the city, forever untouched.The third city was home to War. There was no destruction here, though it was home to soldiers & strategists. It was known for its blacksmiths, goldsmiths, the armories, as well as the intense sports that the city cherished, especially in the Ring. Designed strategically to protect its people, the city never once crumbled to an ambush. Many had tried, eager to take control of where War had given its blessing. Banners hung, crimson & gold, & the city never seemed to be quiet. Even the cathedral, at the heart of the city, was busy.The last city was something else - a rumor, a myth, if anything. No one dared to venture to the city where Death was thought to govern. No one knew of what the inside looked beyond the surrounding cemeteries & walls, aside from the warm, dull glow of lanterns. Ghost stories were told, people were warned of vampires and ghouls if they were to go out venturing when dark fell. From the forests, the only thing that was visible was the cathedral that stood in the middle of the city, towering above with a giant bell in its tower. Whether or not Death’s throne was in the middle of the city like the first two was unknown, anyone who dared to venture close to the city rarely made it through the gate, & if they did, none ever returned.This throne was not empty.A man was seated, pale cheek resting against the back of his hand, a leg crossed over his other, a hand resting on the throne’s armrest. The wind current was light, barely ruffling his tousled dark hair. He was almost still - aside from the rise & fall of his chest with each breath he took, as well as the way his pale eyes slowly observed the crowd beneath him as they did their best to not look at him for too long. Beside him, stood a bronze statue of a man, crimson eyes carefully observing the crowd of undead.Death had finally come, and he had brought War with him.
